If you’re an avid follower of this blog (and of course you are, you’re not a monster), you might remember this guy from the Christmas mini sessions last month:
Well, guess who’s the luckiest photographer? That’d be me, because I got to see handsome Mr. Declan again for his three-month photos in the studio. Let me tell you something: this kid has more style at three months than, well, I do.
Seriously, if you loved Declan: The Awesome Hat at the Christmas sessions, check out the sequel, Declan: Sweater Onesie and Bow Tie.
Seriously. Cutest. Dude. Ever. Can you stand more? Check out this smile.
Thanks for coming into the studio, Declan (and parents)! Looking forward to seeing your sweet face again soon.
It was such a pleasure to have the lovely W. family as one of the first photo sessions in my new home studio! They were sweet, funny, and super easy to photograph–there’s nothing better than getting a family of huggers in front of the camera so I don’t have to keep saying “move closer together!”
And seriously, how cute is this family?
These sisters were sweet, funny, and great sports about all the silly poses I asked them to do.
I got to try out a technique I learned in the Milky Way’s fabulous Illuminate course*, called “dream lighting”–and just look at these cuties!
What a great experience–I’m looking forward to getting to see this wonderful family again!
*Affiliate link…this course is awesome and I totally recommend it!
Check out the smile on this cutie!
Kinda melts your heart, doesn’t it? So sweet!
Speaking of super-sweet babies, I had the pleasure of meeting this guy and his parents at the tree farm. What a sweet and beautiful family.
And in case you weren’t paying attention there…did you see this two-month-old rocking this hat? This kid’s got style.
I had SO MUCH FUN at Christmas mini sessions this year! Thanks so much to all the families who came out to the tree farm (and to Santa, of course)!
(There are still one or two spots left for Christmas minis in the studio on Dec. 6…contact me to book yours!)
Christmas mini sessions this year were SO much fun! They were held at Pioneer Trails Tree Farm (and thanks to Mary Jan Perdulla for the very generous use of this gorgeous land!), and on the first day of mini sessions we had a very special guest…Santa!
Santa was amazing (well, he’s Santa, so of course he was), and it was wonderful that every child got to spend some serious quality time with Santa. Thirty minutes per session gave us plenty of time to do family and individual child photos and still get plenty of one-on-one time with our guest of honor. 🙂
Here are some of the wonderful (and so photogenic!) families that came out for the first day of Christmas sessions. Am I seriously the luckiest girl to get to photograph these beautiful faces? 🙂
First up: how. freaking. cute. is this family?
Next up: the gorgeous Miss M. She rocked that dress, she kept her amazing smile while her nose was freezing, and she was generally all-around awesome.
You might remember these handsome guys from Frankie’s newborn session…they braved the cold to come and hang out with Santa!
Those little guys have style to burn. And those smiles! I’m seeing modeling careers in their futures. 🙂
I ended this day of mini sessions with one of my very favorite families (who may be quickly becoming the “face” of Dr. Z Photography). 🙂 Always wonderful to have them in front of the camera!
Seriously, just look. at. this. How sweet are they?
Of course, I can’t end this post without showing you how excited my own sweet little guy was to get to see Santa! He brought Santa a picture he drew (Santa in the sled with the reindeer) and he LOVED getting to hang out and talk to him. He told me later, “Now Santa will remember me every time he sees me!” (so I’m thinking probably no more mall Santas in our future!). So sweet and such a wonderful experience.
Thanks to everyone who came out for the first day of Christmas mini sessions this year–hope to see you all again soon!

I know I say this all the time, but I’ll say it again.
I absolutely love new clients. I’m excited and honored that people choose Dr. Z Photography and trust me with capturing their memories, and I’m always grateful for that trust.
But you know what? I super-duper puffy-heart rainbows-and-unicorns LOVE my repeat clients. Like, seriously, this much.
So I was thrilled last year when I got to meet Blake’s family and take his newborn photos. What a tiny, sweet little peanut he was!
And then I was super thrilled and happy when I got to see sweet Blake again for Mother’s Day mini photos.
So I think you can only imagine how psyched I was to get to do Blake’s one-year-old photo session. In his shiny red car, no less!
Seriously, look at that gorgeous face.
There’s no doubt that this is one loved little boy. 🙂
He’s also got a lot going on, as you can see.
We had to do a photo with his newborn picture to show how much he’s grown in a year!
This month’s photo challenge at I Heart Faces is “bright & vivid”…and this sweet girl’s photo from her fall mini session this weekend seemed perfect!
Check out the rest of the amazing entries!
The weather around Northeastern Ohio has been pretty erratic lately (lately? How about all the time?), but we’ve had some gorgeous leaves and that awesome golden fall light. I *LOVE* fall photos, so I was excited to get out and do this fall session with these two little cuties (who won–well, technically their mom won–my 300 Facebook fan giveaway)!
The Children’s Garden at Fellows Riverside Gardens never disappoints…always some fun backdrops there. 🙂
This little guy definitely kept me moving…holy super energy (and look at those gorgeous blue eyes)!
His little sister is seriously The. Cutest. And oh my gosh, that is one stylish one-year-old!
It was not the easiest thing to get them both in the same camera frame…but totally worth waiting for. Not much sweeter than some sibling love. 🙂
You guys know how much I adore repeat clients…and how awesome is it when there’s a new little person to include in the photos?
(OMG those tiny FEET! I can’t even stand it!)
I was SUPER excited for Frankie’s newborn photo session–I had a portrait session with his handsome older brothers last year and I couldn’t wait to meet him. And what sweet, adoring older brothers he has–what a lucky little guy!
So here he is. Frankie, 8 days new and such a charmer.
He was so awesome for his newborn session…he was squishy and sleepy and everything you want for newborn photos, but he did give us one or two glimpses of those gorgeous blue eyes.
Can’t wait to see this little guy and his family at the Christmas mini sessions…how cute will they be with Santa?!
(Newborn sessions are $50 off through the end of November–go ahead and book yours now or contact me through the form below!)
I don’t know how it happened, but I’ve been lucky enough to have all of the most awesome, adorable, and FUN clients. If you’ve been around my Facebook page at all, you’ve seen this for yourself–my clients are just flat-out awesome and creative (and they make beautiful children). So you know I was thrilled when one of my super-awesome-creative clients asked me to photograph her daughter’s 6th birthday party…with a petting zoo! Yep, thats right: my first photo session that included a hedgehog (and alpacas, and goats…). Too much fun!
Check out the birthday girl and her awesome pony-riding skills!
Of course her guests were also wonderful, and I was pretty much the happiest person there with this many cute kids to photograph!
Thanks for letting me share your fun day!
One of my favorite things about this job is when clients become friends. Two years ago, I did a photo session with this gorgeous girl for her first birthday:
I’ve been lucky enough to photograph her beautiful family (including her new little sister, Layla!) a number of times since then, including Layla’s baptism last winter. So you can imagine how excited I was to get to take Layla’s first birthday photos too….especially when I found out about all the props her mama had prepared! So. Much. Fun. 🙂
Seriously, I am the happiest person in the world when I get to photograph this:
Could this little girl be any cuter?!?
Gorgeous! And as if this photo shoot wasn’t already fun enough…bring out the cake!
Holy cute overload. Layla loved her cake (and so did her big sister!)
This shoot was so fun that I seriously did not want it to end. I could do this kind of thing all. day.
Happy (almost) first birthday, sweet girl! Thanks for giving me some smiles despite the heat and all those new teeth coming in. 🙂
