One of the best things about newborn photography–kind of the hidden perk–is getting to hold those sweet new babies. So how lucky was I to get to photograph these sweet new twins?
Introducing Ellie and Cora…four weeks old in these photos, which were taken the day after their actual due date. They just couldn’t wait to get out in the world and start their modeling careers, I think.
So. Cute. Can’t even stand it.
So these girls…they just cuddled right up together in this little newborn nest and held each other’s hands. How awesome to have a best friend right from the first days of your life. 🙂
I mean, did you see this?
Newborns rock. Cora and Ellie rock. And I love my job.
(Love my awesome vendors! Pink newborn basket by The Damask Baby. White newborn nest by Becky Smith. Wraps by Dolly Priss. Pink tiebacks by Magoo and Baloo. Digital art in the last photo by Sweet Pea Palace.)
If you’re an avid follower of this blog (and of course you are, you’re not a monster), you might remember this guy from the Christmas mini sessions last month:
Well, guess who’s the luckiest photographer? That’d be me, because I got to see handsome Mr. Declan again for his three-month photos in the studio. Let me tell you something: this kid has more style at three months than, well, I do.
Seriously, if you loved Declan: The Awesome Hat at the Christmas sessions, check out the sequel, Declan: Sweater Onesie and Bow Tie.
Seriously. Cutest. Dude. Ever. Can you stand more? Check out this smile.
Thanks for coming into the studio, Declan (and parents)! Looking forward to seeing your sweet face again soon.
As part of my move toward providing a full-service, luxury photo experience, Dr. Z Photography is now providing a complimentary in-person “Reveal” viewing and ordering meeting with every photo session. You can go here to read more about this service and why it’s such an important part of making sure that every Dr. Z Photography client gets a personalized experience, including the opportunity to see and hold samples of various prints and products, ask questions about product options, and receive individualized advice to ensure that you get the prints and products that are perfect for your lifestyle and your budget.
As part of this experience, every Reveal session begins with a slideshow of the best images from your photo session. Want to see an example? Here’s a slideshow from a recent newborn photo session.
The slideshow of your photos (on a USB drive) is available for purchase a la carte or as a free gift with a minimum package purchase. Be sure to ask at your Reveal meeting if you’re interested in taking your slideshow home!
You guys know how much I adore repeat clients…and how awesome is it when there’s a new little person to include in the photos?
(OMG those tiny FEET! I can’t even stand it!)
I was SUPER excited for Frankie’s newborn photo session–I had a portrait session with his handsome older brothers last year and I couldn’t wait to meet him. And what sweet, adoring older brothers he has–what a lucky little guy!
So here he is. Frankie, 8 days new and such a charmer.
He was so awesome for his newborn session…he was squishy and sleepy and everything you want for newborn photos, but he did give us one or two glimpses of those gorgeous blue eyes.
Can’t wait to see this little guy and his family at the Christmas mini sessions…how cute will they be with Santa?!
(Newborn sessions are $50 off through the end of November–go ahead and book yours now or contact me through the form below!)
I’m happy to announce that Dr. Z Photography is now serving the northeastern Ohio area as a volunteer photographer for Preemie Prints! You can see my (brief) intro bio on their site.
Preemie Prints is a wonderful organization that offers free photography sessions for babies in the NICU and NICU grads (up to one year old). This is how the organization explains their mission:
Pictures and memory items will help families and mothers through their difficult journey with a premature or critically ill baby. In addition, pictures may aid NICU moms who have postpartum depression (PPD) and/or post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) both of which are increased after spending time in a neonatal intensive care unit. Pictures can also encourage bonding and breast milk production during the time spent away from baby (while they are in the NICU). We encourage you to take pictures of your baby every day.
Families with a baby in the NICU (for any length of time) or with a NICU grad up to one year old receive a free photo session and a disk of the digital images from the session.
If you’d like to request a session, visit their request form here.
Preemie Prints has volunteers all over the country, so be sure to check their location map to see if they have a volunteer photographer near you. If you’re in the northeastern Ohio area (Youngstown, Boardman, Warren, Akron, Cleveland), I’ll be your photographer!

Meet Blake! Can you believe how handsome this guy is at only ten days old? Blake arrived just in time for the holidays!
He looks so peaceful, doesn’t he? You’d never know that he was so not into sleeping and just wanted to stay awake to see what the heck we were doing. 🙂
…which was kind of awesome because look at those deep, gorgeous eyes!
Turns out Blake looks good in pretty much every color.
He’s also quite debonair. Seriously, look at this style!
What a sweetheart. I feel very lucky to have gotten to photograph Blake when he was brand new. Congratulations, mama and papa (and the rest of his adoring family)–he is amazing!
